What Car - £6k family SUV

My wife has a Kia C'eed estate, and would like to replace it with a SUV*.

• it doesn't actually need to be an SUV, but the typical requirements of high driving position etc. No hate please!

Requirements:
Some ground clearance, but 4WD not required
Medium boot space - the space in my BMW 335d E91 is ok, so >450L
£6k-ish
"Quick" (compared to the Kia) - <8.5 seconds to 60.
Automatic
Heated seats
>25 MPG
<15 years old
not £600 tax band

I was thinking either a BMW X5 E70 3.0d (or even an sd) or a Volvo XC60 D5.

The X5's look great on paper, but every example looks... dodgy.

The Volvo is the more sensible choice, but virtually all the ones available are the 160HP ones which I think are too slow.

My left field suggestion was a BMW 535d GT F07, but they seem to have disappeared from the market completely - not that they'd probably be in budget thanks to the mental used car prices increases...

My wife suggested a BMW X3 - the F25 is a little too expensive, and the E83 is getting on a bit and looks poor value compared to the X5 - but probably the best option so far.

I paid your budget for a 2012 (facelift) XC70 D5 and am very happy with it. Super comfortable, loads of space and quite nippy in the 215 bhp guise. It's got 150,000 on the clock, but you'd never know.

If you can live with 450 litres of boot space then it's very hard to beat the Infiniti EX they come fully loaded & the 3.0d has a decent amount of go:

Try adding another £500 to your budget and it hopefully open up some less ropey X5s or some more powerful XC60s

Otherwise, what about these two alternatives?
