Dear forum users

I have just changed the brake rotor and wanted to put the new pads in. It is all original Brembo stuff. The pads have a rubber coating on the back as on the anti squeeze plate.
It is impossible to fit the pads with the plate, I removed the rubber on the anti squeeze plate and it fits.
Do you think it is ok to remove the rubber on the plate?
Or would you discard the plate?

Many thanks

What is an "anti squeeze" plate? I've never heard of it.

If you mean an "anti squeal" plate it does exactly what it says on the tin. All that will happen if you leave it out is you might get brake squeal.

Are your pistons fully retracted into the callipers? If not, they should be if you're trying to fit new pads/discs.

Sorry I meant the anti squeal plate, yes the pistons are fully retracted.

For the love of anything holy, do not fit them without the anti-squeal plates. I did that (rear ones) and the car was screaming like a flaming banshee as soon as I was thinking about braking.

What I did then, was ordering from AM Works some new rubber material, removed the old one from the metal plates, attached the new one and put them back on my EBC yellow pads.

If you are more interested, I can link up my original thread.

This is a very well done video and should be helpful. It’s DB9 but same stuff applies.

Sorry for being late, I tend to not check the forum too much during summer:
