Readers Brave Pill
Discussion
Let's see your readers Brave PIlls.
This is mine, it's a E500 5.5.
I set out originally to buy an unbrave pill V8 (Lexus ISF) but saw this for half the price.
Bought it about 4 years ago with 39k on the clock I haven't done many miles in it since it's on 52k now.
It has cooled tan leather seats, dvd player and adaptive cruise control which seems to brake a bit hard when someone pulls in front of me on motorways.
The previous owner had removed the resonators which made it sound like a C63/American muscle car.
It was way too loud for me so I had custom exhaust built for it with a x pipe and resonators put back in so now it's more quiet with smooth deep bass instead of huge roar.
The gearbox and throttle response is a bit slow in comfort mode and suspension is a bit wobbly on twisty roads.
In sports mode it picks fairly well and and suspension firms up a bit and is only a little bit more involving but it's not really that type of car to hustle about, it's more of a crusier.
The seats are no where as comfortable as the Volvo S60 T5 it replaced (god I miss that car).
The cost over the 4 years:
-Service and mot about £2500 over the 4 years
-4 new tyres £600
-Wooden trim for seat control £70
-intake pipes can't remember how much think it about £160
-Custom cat back exhaust £1000
-Fuel haven't kept track but it manages about 17 to 23mpg
Sorry if this is not very well written as I cropping this post together on my mobile.
