Hmmm strange

Over the last few days I've been selling a Renault Laguna, (its on here actually). Anyway it was on ebay and sold last night to a German Ebayer :confused:
I know there's a sensible reason why a German would want a right hand drive Laguna, but I was suspicous and sent ebay a e-mail wanting confirmation this was genuine.
12 hours later and still no response form either e-bay or my German buyer, so I sold the car to a local chap who wanted it, job done.
Oh no.... just had a call from a an upset German chap wanting to know why he could no longer have his Laguna.:eek: After a difficult conversation I think I ironed it all out I hope. But I still get the feeling somethings not right. Any views guys and gals...

I would have to side with the German bloke myself.

If you haven't put a time limit on how quick you want the winning bidder to get back to you on your 'hosting' then you really should have waited longer than 12 hours. 72 hours would be reasonable though IMO

I asked for deposit at the end of the auction of £500, I would have thought 12 hours was plenty ??

hmmm... Id be very wary of selling cars to other countries. Used car markets work in very different ways in other EU countries, with the seller having to provide a warranty!!!!

I know as a UK seller you would not have to do this, but I wouldnt fancy explaining it to an unhappy foreign buyer - especially if its a common (no offence ) car which should sell ok in the domestic market.

I'd state no non uk bidders personally - obviously you didnt but thats another issue.

Never thought to specify UK buyers only, never thought it would be an issue we live and learn, but will in future, cheers

You should have phoned him up, Ebay allows you to get the phone number of teh winning bidder.
