‘18 Vanquish S Spec, advice

Hi all
Bought a high spec low mileage 2018 Vanquish S - having it delivered so I’ll have distance selling rules to check it over
Had a couple questions
1) anyone know what the luxury pack comprises ?
2) any things to check over / look for in particular ?
3) worth getting a check over by an Indy (Aston Martin Works or Nicholas Mee) ? Comes with a years warranty from main dealership

A wonderful choice. Will this car be your first Aston Martin?
Bamford Rose might be another suitable option for your post purchase inspection. They use a tooth comb.
Always busy, so making contact can be annoyingly difficult.

I'm not aware of anything in particular that you should check they are pretty solid really.
Aston paint finish isn't the best so don't be too perturbed if you see any light swirl marks especially if they are uniform as they are likely to be from the factory.
Diamond turned wheels bring the usual problem of lacquer lifting but most of them have probably been refurbished at least once by now.
Common annoyances can be a sticky petrol flap release.
Check the tpms is OK, can get damaged by tyre fitters.
Lift the bonnet and make sure it's dry, 2 cars i looked at (1 std and 1 S) both had a slight oil misting across the bay. I think it was probably from an oil overfill or something but either way it shouldn't be there.
Check the sport button actually makes it louder when going through the gears. If not used or if kept on permant the valves can stick and may need freeing off but it's not a biggy.
I cant really think of much more to specifically look for, naybe try listening for a soft whoosh sound when gently braking from 10mph, that means the CCM discs are all good.

Seriously? I was just in the PPF place and the quality of the paint on my Aston was just light years ahead of the Ferraris, Lambo and high end Mercs. It was eye opening. All those three were so horribly orange peely and just messy looking at close range. Maybe I’m just super lucky! Most detailers would probably confirm a little more work is required on Astons especially in the small, hard to get at areas.
I'm sure they leave the factory having had a final mop with something the size of a bin lid so the less accessible areas often have uniform hook type swirl marks. It's especially noticeable on the darker colours. The paint is often so soft it can mark up incredibly easily. Just my thoughts though.

Personally, as you are in Surrey I would use Trinity Engineering in Ripley, highly recommended. My 2018 Vanquish S is going for a post sale inspection next week. Based upon my experience check everything works - like the keys, ventilated seats if you have them. Paint is soft but normally can be rectified. Rubber seals always worth a check too, not covered I think by the Timeless warranty and ridiculously expensive. Obvious point but check the front splitter and the rear one too for damage. Hope that helps.
100% referral for Trinity also. I’ve used them since my first Aston long before they moved to Ripley. Don’t expect to drop the car off and be on your way though! Tim will be delighted to show around the place and all the wonderful exotic astons they have there! He’s taken me out in a DB5 and a DB4 previously! I took my vanqS there and felt a bit underwhelmed after the trip in the DB5!
My tyre sensors were like that when mine was picked up. A dealer just reset them as the control unit wasn't reading them. A 2 min job and ive never seen the warning since. It was almost certainly down to new tyres having been fitted for the sale and the reconnection not established correctly. OR at least that's what I was told.
Every single S model.i looked at had scrapes to the underside of the splitter and I've added a few of my own since. So long as it's not cracked or loose in any way and that the top side aesthetics are all as they should be it will be OK.
I woukd he interested to know how the dealer is to repair it though.

I've never tried apple as I use android.
Android has always worked without issue however (and I think this is one of those idiosyncrasies of owning an Aston) the whole Infotainment will freeze, then reset itself every so often. It's happened 3 times in 5000 miles and 6 months on mine. Not a huge issue as I just let it get on with it although once it decided to reset itself qhile I was following the sat nav through a French Town I had never been to so for about 3 mins I was having mild heart attack not knowing where the hell I was supposed to be going.but that's just astons for you

Second that - every now and again the infotainment system resets (I use car play) and takes a couple of minutes to reboot...

I've added 20k klms to mine in the last 3 years and had a few issues, but nothing major or expensive...
issues I have had are..
1. petrol cap sticking - a gentle, but informed bit of pressure on the spring sorted this out...
2. drivers seat needed re-setting (reprogramming) - done by dealer - took 5 minutes...
3. rear quarterlight window seal came detached (Volante) - after the guide (horrible piece of beige plastic) perished...
4. cruise control cancel switch cracked and subsequently broke into two pieces - dismantled and re-glued as temporary fix..- looking for a sensibly priced fix as the switch only comes as a whole at $$$ when the plastic part probably costs pennies...
My spec 2017 Vanquish S Volante - Cumberland grey - metallic black interior (!) - debadged from new running on 21 voseen wheels with Larini back box.
Booked in for her next service at AM Cannes - France, in a couple of weeks time - lets see how that works out..!!
All told - she's a keeper and gets admiration wherever we go and is a great place to be....
