Techart announces new parts for 992 GT3
Already got the Manthey upgrades? Don't want a GT3 RS? Need more carbon? Right, step this way...

It’s a tricky game, modifying super high performance cars. Because when there are vehicles out there like the 911 GT3, capable from the showroom of lapping the Nurburgring in less than seven minutes, how do you improve it? And how can it be modified without spoiling its core appeal? Now, following Manthey’s dramatic aero improvements for the GT3, Techart has followed suit with its own package of upgrades.
‘Sharpened and distinctive racing styling’ is how Techart describes its work, which comprises a carbon bonnet, carbon front spoiler, carbon side skirts, carbon rear air intake panel and carbon wing end plates. All as might be expected. Perhaps the most notable additions from Techart’s catalogue are the new carbon front wings; not only are they 15mm wider than standard, they also incorporate arch louvres like the RS – or any current track car worth its salt, in fact. Techart makes no claims about additional downforce for its new parts, though anyone wishing to make more of an impact with their GT3 will surely be well served.
Not least with a new exhaust poking out of the carbon apron. There can’t be many out there disappointed with the GT3's soundtrack – the flat six still howling spectacularly even with filters in place – but clearly there’s demand from some quarters for shoutier pipes. It’s made of hand-welded stainless steel, with the full noise set by the exhaust button so it doesn’t annoy all around (and you) in more mundane settings. An ‘extraordinary audible presence’ is promised on road and track; the fact that Techart says ‘the roadside becomes the grandstand’ suggests it might be quite vocal all the time, so don’t say you weren’t warned.

And talking of kerbside, be careful with those snazzy new wheels. Though the same size as a standard GT3's at 20-inch front and 21s rear, the centre-locking, forged Formula VII Race from Techart look awfully vulnerable to parking damage. Which the best wheels so often are. Still, the only kerb your GT3 will be near is an apex kerb, right?
Ramping up the track-star kudos further is Techart’s own Clubsport package, which seems to add even more rollcage than standard (FIA homologated, in fact), a snake pit of six-point harnesses in the bucket seats and miles of contrast stitching. Best really, really like your paint colour if going the whole hog on Clubsport bits.
Techart hasn’t yet confirmed any pricing for its GT3 upgrades, though has promised an order now will see delivery in October. It’ll even overhaul a GT3 Touring, though the wider, louvred wings and carbon bits seem a bit mismatched with that car. And while there are no 992 Tourings for sale on PH right now, there are plenty of spoilered cars out there – perfect for a Techart transformation…

Must sell some though, as there is a 991 Techart in the classfieds.

Maybe they're testing the market with a press release and some Photoshop before committing to full development and manufacture!?

If there was anything at all to gain Porsche would have done it themselves.
Imo this kind of stuff upon resale will significantly devalue it, very few want a modified car, especially of this calibre..

As for having things to gain, why do you think Porsche bought Manthey Racing? That "tuning company" were doing such a good job that Porsche clearly thought it was worth bringing them in-house. Obviously there are cowboy tuners out there, but that doesn't mean they all are.
You are right to say that tuning/modifying may impact future value but, to the right buyer, it may not. Ultimately, if people prefer a standard car, they can go and buy one. There's no guarantee it will be in any better condition though.
