Bose frames - any owners?
Discussion
Ok, I know they’re not ‘hifi’, but has anyone got them?
I have Grado headphones for home, and Bose QC for flights/trains, but I don’t like the feeling of total isolation when walking and in public spaces, so am considering these. Ironically, I don’t like the feeling of ‘isolation’ (for want of a better word) of sunglasses in anything other than really bright weather, so would swap the lenses for clear or lightly tinted ones.
I tried some of the 2nd generation ones in an airport recently, and was pretty impressed. For my specific purposes, perfect sound quality isn’t important in this case.

How about open backed headphones? You'd look a bit of a dill with those bug muffs over your ears but you'd get good sound and be able to hear what's going on around you.
My Grado headphones are open backed, but not suitable for use in public as they leak massively - apparently the Bose sunglasses don’t leak much unless at very high volumes (I tend to listen at low to mid volume)Jaybee1981 said:
Maybe not suitable but...
If you are ok with in ear maybe airpod pro/max?
They have a transparency mode which enhances outside noise rather than mask it.
I find it ideal for busy environments like cities
Good point, but I can’t get on with in ear headphones due to a slight sense of ‘claustrophobia’ for want of a better word - cf. the comment about not liking the feel of being ‘isolated’ (despite the transparency mode). If you are ok with in ear maybe airpod pro/max?

Got some frames on order, coming Monday - I’ll report back.
