Weird Letter...

Not long ago my dad bought a new car.

The other day he recieved a letter from a company, claiming to deal in security, requesting his etch code...

Needless to say, alarm bells started going off in the old man's brain and he's not told them anything incase it's some kind of scam.

Anyway idea what that could be about?

Did he have any paintwork protection type product? Like supaguard or silverseal? They etch a code on the windows... thats about all i can think of chief

isnt there a company up in fulham or hammersmith whose job it is to catalogue all these numbers?
