Changing the cans?

If I was to change the standard cans on my Tuscan, what is the sportiest but not necessarily the noisiest route to take? Have heard a lot about the Carbon Can Co?? Anyone got these or other types. I can here my car pop and 'warble' at around 3000rpm when I back of the throttle, and would like to here it abit more, without it sounding like it is about to go BANG!

I have just put new cans on mine...from a Sagaris!

On examining the difference between the OEM TVR Tuscan cans and OEM TVR Sagaris cans, the Sagaris are more or less straight through with about 1" of silincer. The Tuscan ones are almost silenced for their entire 20" or so length.

I think this is going to be loud...very loud indeed.

So whatdyaknow, Sagaris cans fit the Tuscan...and CCC cans fit the Sagaris - they are all the same diameter.

Looking forward to the weekend when I will take the car for a spin and see how she looks and sounds now. Hopefully, not tooooooo noisey!

After looking at the above web site, I have come to the conclusion that I WANT MORE NOISE!

Would suggest de-catting as the best way to get a sportier sound. Replacing the cans gives a more "hollow" sound, which could be taken as sounding a bit more max-power. Me, I liked 'em as noisy as possible, and stuck on the CCC cans and got it de-catted.

i remember reading somewhere that the cans from the Tuscan were exactly the same as some bike, i forget the model it wasnt that recent it may have been a Honda CB 750 but i could be,and probably am very wrong, i am quite sure though that the exhausts on a Tuscan do work in a similar way to a bike, and if you could manage to get the company to custom make them ive always thought a pair of Akrapovic cans on a Tuscan would look amazing.

I did the same, got Carbon Cans. I have never looked back.

CCC are good price and sound Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The guys at CCC are very helpful, I got mine the next day. The local Indy garage fitted then for £5. (it was a bit of a job to get the old ones off)

Once fitted, get yourself into a multistorey car park and see how many more alarms you "accidentally" set off!!!

My wife actively encouraged the fitting of carbon cans.
She said she preferred the V8 noise but also wanted to drown out the bag of nails noise from the front end of the Tuscan!
Bought them on EBay and saved quite a bit of cash.
Worth it? You bet.

CCC it may be then! Are they easy to fit, my dealer says it is just one bolt to change the cans over?

De-catting will give a better, more bassy sound but will be a bit of a bugger if you fail the emmissions test on an MOT. Whereas changing the cans is ten minutes work with a 10mm spanner.

Or, you could do both...

Of the CCC's you can get, which one is the one that looks like its silver, but has a blue 'sheen' to it, and is not blue in colour! They have carbon (which I understand to be like the originals), titanium and carbon titanium??

There are 4 pics on their website of a few Tuscans and one of them (bottom right of the 4) of a light blue Tuscan has the ones on I like. Anyone know which type it is, or better still is it anyones car?!

Absolutely. It should be that simple. Unless your old ones have been through so many heat cycles and years of rusting as to be virtually welded on. Which is regularly the case.

Can take judicious use of a hammer to loosen them...

Too right. My Tusc flew through the emissions test both de-catted & CCC canned.

Yep they are mine on my 1st car, titanium. I have had them transposed onto my new car and they are still great after 2 years. Highly recommended.
