Roon Core / Mac Mini - basic questions!
Discussion
I am thinking of moving my Roon Core from my MacBook to a Mac Mini...
How would I 'see' the Mac Mini on my network - it would be connected directly to my router... will my MacBook see it under my network in Finder? And, if so, can I open it and operate it via Finder my MacBook - make settings changes, download software etc?
Sorry - very clunky fundamental questions. I am not entirely sure how you use a Mac Mini on a network without a screen. I am sure it's totally obvious when you have one.

Why would you need to see the screen of Mac Mini for the Roon Core?
I run Roon Core on a headless Ubuntu server, with the Roon app installed on my Macbook, iPad, and iPhone. I can do everything I need to through the Roon app, without ever logging in to the core.
The only thing I have to have access to is the file system where music is stored when I copy new music files onto it. In my case, that's on a NAS drive rather than on the Roon server.

I assume when buying a brand new MacMini, that I'd need to see it to install the Roon Server software, get it onto my network etc. I am not sure how to set it up without seeing it.

My library is also on a NAS and it works well... I will keep it there.Did you originally migrate your Core from another computer? Was that a tricky thing to do? Will the Roon app on my laptop and mobile need reconfiguring in some way - particularly the laptop as it will no longer be the core.
I have read through the various instructions, it seems reasonably straightforward, although I am a bit unclear about how my MacBook will know it's no longer the Core.
Thanks...
