Germany to Romania with a new car

A colleague is buying a car from a M-B dealer in Germany and driving it back to Romania via Austria and Hungary.

The car will have temporary German plates.

Are there any vignettes he will need to buy for this journey?

Depends on the route your chum wants to take

Czechia requires a vignette - buy online or via a machine at the border. (Ignore unofficial manned vignette booths who will overcharge you.)

From memory Slovakia also requires a vignette, as does Hungary.

Not sure about Austria, although Switzerland does.

Austria requires a vignette for the Autobahn. Cheapest is the 10 day one.

Austria, Switzerland, BG, HU, Czech Rep, Slovakia , Slovenia, all require vignettes. Take a chance on not buying one is around the 200 euro mark plus the cost of a vignette on top.
