Some on here may recall a driveshaft bearing putting the kybosh on my attempt to head south last year in my resto/mod/ thing CX Turbo.
Well, Im just back from an epic 1500 mile round trip to Gaillac, where I rode my bike (hot), drank and bought wine, ate superb food and lounged around. The CX was just superb, although with the still unfinished A/C (yes, I know!) it was a tad warm in 40degree heat. The car however coped just fine.
I stayed with Citroen and Yorkshire legend Stan Platts on the way down, drove down the Mulsane straight, and took the chance to visit Oradour sur Glane on the way down-a hugely sobering experience. On the way back I stayed at Hotel Joyet de Maubec (Fantastic suggestion by Claret m). The drive back today, was simply epic, I left Uzerche at 5am and got to the Chunnel just before midday. In the cooler morning air, we sat at 85-90 mph for hour after hour, just superb. Here’s a few pics…….

Erm. You can't post about a restomod CX and not link to the details (or mention what has been done)! Not to mention we need more pictures!

I love a CX!

Old Skool 2.5 square pushrod plodder. Never rev it past 4,000. 300 lbs ft from about 2,200.. effortlessly wafty and grunty. 85 mph@ 2,500 rpm.

Love it perfect for the job, I don't know my Citroens very well but the xu10j2te I have started life it the xm's and xantias as much the same thing. It reached the heady heights of 8psi by 2k rpm doubt you could even tell they were boosted just effortless waft. I've totally ruined mine with a xu9 GTi cam and 21/23psi of boost laughlaughlaugh
