As long as the level is OK and the oil decently clear I think I could overlook it.

Talking of oil, how old is the car and has the gearbox oil been changed? If not that can really spoil your day.

Whilst decent oil, in a car driven under ideal conditions, wouldn't necessarily be a problem (albeit not ideal) I would want to scrutinise the service history in case it's indicative of scrimping, in which case I'd look elsewhere. Tyres are often a good guide as to how well a car has been looked after.

How old is the car, mileage, owners?

Second service 12-11 23k

Then from memory another 4 stamps roughly 5k apart but years sporadic

2009 47k miles

I mean some engines/oils wouldn't be a problem but I don't know astons that well and it's just the feeling that it might not have even been checked for that long.

How about getting an expert to check the car over before deciding?

Is it a private or trade sale? If the latter then you do have some redress in law.

Totally depends on how it has been used.

A Trackday once a month over that period.... Walk away.

Trundling up and down a motorway constantly, no issue at all.

I'd imagine if that one instance of a long service interval were going to directly cause a problem, it would've manifested in the intervening decade plus.

If it feels like the car has been looked after since then, I wouldn't be concerned.

Then yes that would bother me, it's meant to be annual. It would worry me why skip it? If they skipped something as basic as a simple annual service what else has been ignored? I'd imagine it would also void warranty but that would depend on age of car

Conversely, my car had been serviced every year by an Aston main dealer. Lovely. But it still needed a new torque converter, probably £6K. So a book of stamps, whilst desirable, is not as great as one might think...!

Mercedes-Benz have confirmed that modern fully synthetic oils can safely last 18 months.
How do I know ?
Older M-Bs have dashboard service indicators. No set service intervals. My car does about 8,000 miles every year and the indicator requests service only about every year and a half.

That shows that the oil is good for your time period of eighteen months, but we do not know whether the service interval would become more frequent for higher mileages.

I wouldn't be worrying about a missed oil change or 2 from +24k miles and 4 services ago. Who's to say they weren't performed outside dealer network and/or just not stamped? If the car runs well it wouldn't put me off unless the rest of the car showed poor stewardship.
