Pretty impressed with the fast charge on my Taycan yesterday….

Went from 11% to 86% in 24mins, hitting at least 228kW (I wasn’t watching the whole time).

Highest would be 255+ in a Tesla Model 3 on a v3 supercharger at a deserted location, but doesn't last long.

Best overall, our current etron. 150kW charging speed from 10%-80% so took around 20 minutes. Not bad for a relatively old 400v based car, only newer 800v cars like the EV6, Taycan and etron GT can better it.

250kw at the Fort William supercharger for me. Took about half an hour to hit 90% whilst I wandered round the supermarket getting my dinner.

The charging curve is far more important than peak rate - although the Taycan’s pretty good at that too!

Half an hour to hit 90% from 20%? They must have improved the charge curve in the past 12 months as ours wouldn't get close to that on a v3 at Darts Farm last September despite starting at 250+.

The most important thing is range added. What you want is a very efficient EV with great charge curve, the EV6 being the current title holder I'd suggest.

Car is a 2020 M3P and I’d just driven from Birmingham with the last charge stop (and stop for that matter) at Glasgow Eurocentral. Battery was probably pre-heating for ages beforehand. It was late October, decent weather.

I’m probably not being completely accurate in saying half an hour but it certainly wasn’t 50 minutes as shown. It was late though, around 9pm and I was the only one charging. I recall coming out of the supermarket where I’d pretty much just got a pizza and a bottle of wine and being surprised at how much it had done. So much so I had enough to drive as far as Tebay the following day coming back with it pissing rain the whole way.
