Cobra 427 Mark IV

For the more savvy Cobra wise...

What exactly is a Cobra 427 Mark 4 from 1968? I assume this is not an original cobra 427 which was a mark III? Is this a different car? Does it have any historic value or is it just one of the many "clones" of the Cobra?

Any reference information on Cobra versions history would be very nice, I just love Cobras

Checking my copy of Trevor Legates book Cobra,The Real Thing... a Mk IV was the updated version of the MkIII coil spring cobra that up til recently(early 80's) was being buildt in England by Brian Angliss' CP Autocraft from the original AC jigs and body bucks. These cars do fit into any of the foregoing catagories (original, original/restored,original/rebodied, replica, aircar, kit car)

Buy a book to read up on them as the cobra history is very confusing.

imagine if AstonMartin started building the DB5 again..they aren't the REAL db5 really are they?

Ok, but 1968 would still be within the production years of the "real" cobra which I believe was built until 1969? Did "clones" and "real" cobras co-existed in production? Or am I missing something entirely?
