The luxury trim isn't really what I am looking for and it doesn't appear to have paddles, but it is cheap? Thanks.

The professional navigation isn't worth getting hung up on as a phone is better in every way these days, but make sure you sit in it as the standard seats are... average at best.
For me Its more than just a navigation system though.Frik said:

I like the luxury spec, but that needs professional navigation and sports seats.
This, as well as xenon'sIdeally I wanted the pan roof but I ended up compromising on that.
For me the non-negotiable bits were -
LED lights
Heated seats
professional nav
BMW warranty
Silver, Grey or Black
I did look at a couple of Luxury spec cars but they were either missing Professional Nav or had halogen lights.
In the end I bought this, an M Sport plus with heated seats and professional navigation. 5000 miles later, I definitely made the right choice.
It does look quite a low-spec version. I probably prefer the Luxury cars but here in Switzerland they tend to be quite rare and very high specification (frequently with Individual colours). They tend to be bought by older clients who don't care how much they cost and hold them for quite a time.
I had a later 340 touring. It had a huge spec as I bought a demonstrator. Of the 2 pages of options on the spec-sheet the ones that I really valued were:
Adaptive LED
Adaptive suspension
Heads-up display
Adaptive cruise
I've never seen one before without the pro-navigation. Realistically old sat navs won't be as good as the Google Maps on your phone. I suspect many people get it just because it looks nicer.
I had 19" summer wheels and 17" winters. The ride on the winter wheels was much nicer.
The seats in my current Alpina are luxury seats, as the Alpinas are based on the Luxury models. Personally for day-to-day use I like them.
As long as you believe that the low spec is priced in and you're comfortable with that then it will be a nice car.
