He’s done it against all expectations. AAC
The downside is he’s off to Liverpool not Manchester.
Now what to do with his bedroom?
Sex dungeon or rent it out to a 20 yr old Swedish (female) student?

I’m waiting for a pic of slim blonde, geeky nerd and a ginger girl not being able to jump in the air at the correct time, it’s a bingo game I play each year

My son’s school has got pictures up on the website of happy students opening brown envelopes of results.

1) they don’t get brown envelopes with results in
2) the pictures were staged about a month ago
3) they exaggerate the ethnic diversity of the school by about 1000%

I’ve already had the argument with the boy over grade inflation since the 1980s. Apparently children today really are 3 times cleverer than my generation!

I remember one year, a group of students opened their results live on air and one of them didn't get what they needed. I always assumed this was somewhat staged because nobody would be stupid enough to do it on TV without knowing more or less, the teachers would pick people who did well etc, and if you don't know where you are going, you would want to get it done quickly so you can get into the queue for clearing.

I'm glad that the pass rate has reduced, now that we're back to proper exams instead of teacher assessments.

Clarkson has already posted his "don't worry..." tweet so that's one ticked off my list.

Even my daughter, who left school in 2004, thinks it's all got a bit out of hand. I passed in 1969 - I reckon my C in English would get me into Oxbridge these days. Sadly it all gives young people unreasonable expectations.

Vikingette2 got 3 A* and is off to Mankychester.

I hate Manchester. It's a ballache to drive to. Vikingette1 is in Brum and that's so easy. I've left at 4:30am many times, got there for 7am, and back home around 10-11am with the rest of the day free. Manky is just a manky 5hr drive minimum with the extra couple of hours from Brum. Still it opens up opportunities in collecting more Facebook Marketplace guff I don't need and I can explore more roads through the Peak District.
