Painting/Wrapping a Racecar
Discussion
A few months ago, I started a topic about going racing. A few months later I am the proud owner of an ARDs and a race car (impulsive nature + understanding wife = another car = race car).
The car I have bought is in great mechanical shape but the paintwork on the fibreglass body is a bit crap and was painted a slightly marmite colour by the previous owner (it was a homage to a famous British 1970s race team - great on a 1970s saloon but in my opinion, not so great on a 2017 GT car).
Now obviously I don't want to spend much on the bodywork of a car that will undoubtedly get scraped, crunched, and chipped but I would quite like to get it looking a little fresher.
With this in mind, I was thinking about either spraying it (I have a compressor and guns) or wrapping it. We are currently moving house and so the car is living at my dad's house. This means that either approach will need to be done outside (or at best in a covered but not dust free environment). With the above constraints, I'm looking for thoughts on which will give the best results. I'm not particularly fussed about the finish (it's a race car and not a show car) so I'm open to different ideas if they are a) cheap b) easy c) okay looking.
