Mazda 6 2.5 Estate.
Discussion
So, after getting a van that I definitely didn't need, for £350 and doing some work (including welding) to get it through the MOT, I realised I just didn't have the space for it, so sold it on for a bit of profit.
Even though I didn't have space for the van, I suggested to the fiancee, that what we needed was an estate to run along side my E46....
So the searching began for a cheap, shed money estate. Gumtree and Facebook marketplace were the targets. After 3 days of spending many hours wasted away, looking at 100+ adverts, this came up on tuesday...

A 2008 Mazda 6 2.5 Estate sport, with 101k, for £1400!! Luckily I spotted it posted "32 minutes ago", sent a message and it was still available. We agreed that I could view it on the Saturday (yesterday). All week I was worried someone would come in to buy it at a higher price / he would sell it before Saturday, but he kept his word, headed there after work and made the purchase.
It's honestly a lovely place to be when driving. Has all you need, with AC, heated half leather seats, Xexons, cornering lights, Bluetooth (although only for calls it seems and not music), AUX, Bose speaker upgrade, keyless etc.
On the drive back, my other half noticed that under her feet (front passenger footwell), there was a vibration / knocking every now and then. Got back and inspected underneath to find this cable hanging down...

I'm not sure what it's actually for. It just seems like an empty wire housing / piece of rubber, nothing inside. Anyone have any ideas? Anyway, I tried pushing it up and out of the way of the control arm, etc and it seems to of cured it.. it's still there, but nothing like it was, so will have to investigate.
Also when pressing the ac circulation button to air outside the car, there's a loud clicking noise, so guessing the heater actuator has failed, so will also have to investigate that too.
Another slightly annoying thing with this car, is that on the lights, it has settings for Auto, Off, Sidelights and dipped beam. If you're in any other setting other than Sidelights, all the lights are on...
Apart from that though, it has 11 months MOT & pretty good service history. Let's see how long I can justify owning this! Here's some more photos..

The hose is probably the AC condensate drain.
Ah, that's a good point. I've just never seen one hanging before. When I bent it to move it out the way, do you think this would've caused the clicking sound? I only say that because it seemed like the clicking noise happened after, but I'm not 100% sure. dontfollowme said:
Looks like a lot of car for the money - is the fuel consumption painful?
I think it's a lot of car for the money. Cheapest on AT & Ebay are around the £3k mark.Haven't really driven enough to comment about the fuel consumption. The average is saying 30mpg over 600 miles from the previous owner, but unsure if that mileage was motorways. My E46 is also a 325i, so used to the 25ish mpg.
