Middlebarton Garage
Discussion
Hi
Can anyone recommend this garage for old Fiat expertise?
I've heard of the name for many years but have no experience of them.
I have an 850 Sport Coupe with what I think is a carb issue that manifests itself as a flatspot under load.
Had a great chat with the boss, Tony, who absolutely seemed to know what he was talking about and he suggested taking the car to him.
Just wondered if any other PHeaders had experience of this firm and if they did a good job at reasonable money.
Ordinarily I'd just buy a new carb (ultimately probably cheaper) but they're not available so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thanks.

I've got an 850 Sport Coupe. Bought it in 1985 so I have used many places to work on it and supply parts over the years. They are very well engineered but quite sensitive if not set up correctly. So also worth checking electrical connections, HT leads, ignition system (I had mine converted to electronic ignition and that makes a big difference), fuel filter etc. etc.
As to carburettors, I had a couple of them (twin choke Weber 30DIC from memory) refurbished by Carburetter Exchange in Leighton Buzzard. They did a fantastic job at a fair price. Haven't had to touch the carb since putting it back on the car. Just speaking as a very satisfied customer, no connection to the business.
