Can i buy a new Jaguar XF for cash?

Take the finance out to get any discounts/deals - then pay it all off at the first payment.Just an FYI, any petrol XF with metallic paint is over the 40k luxury tax threshold

She's not going to get finance at 80!.
I have suggested the XE but she seems set on the XF. I think she prefers a car from new but isnt too bothered about speccing it.. I was just wondering, having not bought a brand new car for about 18 months whether XF's are in short supply and those that the dealer has are pushed into PCP or HP.
She asked me to sort out a car, her XJ is the 3.0 V6 in seafoam blue with 60k, not really worth anything as she's managed to put lots of "old people scrapes" on it. but will be a nice smoker for me if petrol prices ease a bit.

From what I read a wealthy 80 year old lady who, in the past, has had a new Jaguar XJ every 18 months, or thereabouts, for years decides she wants a new Jaguar XF to replace her aging XJ and to do what she always does and pay cash for it.
Some of the replies here are ridiculous, she does not need a test drive, a second hand one or a three year old lesser model because it's cheap or to worry about the cost of the road fund licence.
OP, just call your local Jaguar main agent, make an appointment to take your Mum to buy her new car, perhaps check prices on line to make sure you don't get your leg lifted on price, let her see what's available, spec colours etc pick the one she wants and buy it, she definitely will not be shown the door because she wants to pay cash despite what some will have you believe. Trust me, it won't be difficult and you both might enjoy the experience, good luck.

Contrary to the doom and gloom “cash buyers are ignored” thread, I’ve bought three cars for cash over the last 2 years and had no problems at all with being treated fairly and courteously by dealers.

I'm pretty sure I read that jaguar synced their online price with their showroom price a while back so you didn't walk into the swanky jaguar dealership and leave disappointed when you didn't get the online price.
Anyway, take your mum to the dealership. You've a good chance they'll treat her like royalty and love going through all the choices with her. You'll come out with a brand new car ordered. Even if there's a wait they might have a cancelled order available. Sounds like great fun!

started off with a mk1 and then traded them in every year at Crabtree and Nichol then Hatfield's jaguar every year. Part ex price meant the change up was usually quite small. We drove all over Europe in them when i was a kid. Lots of V12 action in the 70's, as she got older 4.2's and now the base model as she doesnt do any miles. Too expensive now for her to keep buying them. We broke down in every country in Europe. I can remember coming back from Northern Europe in an Airforce blue /red leather V12 doing about 10 miles to gallon with the second tank disabled and hoping we could find fuel. 50p to the first of us that spotted a petrol station in the Alps..

Trading in every single year sounds tiring, though I imagine you had a good relationship with the dealer and they made it basically seamless given that your mum was a reliable commission for the salesman.Cash purchasing really shouldn't be an issue, in order to avoid wait times I'd be tempted to go for an ex-demo if one meets her criteria but if the she's dealt with the XJ for so long I imagine the could stomach the wait times for one ordered to her spec.
