I am currently looking to work out the logistics and finances required for getting something relatively simple to be manufactured.

It's a barbecue.

Does anyone have some experience of this - any contacts they can recommend or suggest it would be better to consider alternatives?

I have a Chinese buyer that maybe able to help you, drop me an email / message.

It l depends on quantity and quality. Shipping prices have come down, however there are still challenges

For newbies Ali Baba is a good place to start (find a BBQ factory and then ask what bespoke they can do, there will be an MOQ), just make sure they are a factory and not a trading company (sourcing companies that often claim to be factories and charge a margin)

Good luck!
