RE-SPIDER WHEELS

We had a discussion about converting chim's and griff's to 5 stud to allow the cars to take the Spider alloys (mainly), my reply was that i had spider replicas on 4 stud! I bought these wheels second hand and didn't knoe the manufacturer? The point i'm trying to make is that a local supplier is selling the wheels for £650 as a wheel and tyre package, tyres being budgets and he will only sell as a package and not seperate! I told him about them fitting a TVR and said for me to issue this topic to see if anyone is interested? The price is with postage to the UK.

I would def be interested in more info. I want some spiders (or similar) but don't want to go to the expense of hub conversions, what size are they? And the tyres? Any pics?

I know it's 'spanner in the works' but your car will not be insured if you don't inform them of the modification. These wheels have not had a proven history of service with these cars, that's why your insurer will insist on knowing so that they can re-evaluate the risk.

They're 17"x7" with an offset of e+45, as for the tyres, as I mentioned they're budget 215x45x17, I thought for that price, you could always change the tyres and sell the budgets?
So if I send someone the photo, maybe they can post it on the site?

So that's the same offset front and rear. How does that work? Have you fitted spaces on the rears?

Standard are... front 7x15 et26
rear 7.5 x 16 et33

So having fitted enormous 1/2" spacers at the rear and 3/4" spacers at the front you'll still be left with rims that are too narrow unless you fit something like 215/40/17s all round or maybe 225/45/17s at the rear.

IMHO you'd be safer and much better off to fit 8" rims with a 30 ET (and maybe 5mm spacers at the front) then at least you can fit 245/40/17s at the rear and 215/40/17s at the front which is more like it.

gazboy,they have same fitment as some ford/citroen/peugeot.....4x108 but all these have different offsets but i got away with offset 25 all round.......hope this helps,rob

There should be some new alloy options for the whole TVR range from the Griffith on show at the TVR Monster Track Day - I am sure some pics will end up on here somewhere.

Hi, that's all i know is that they're Ripspeed in make? I bought them second hand. I've also got a supplier and he's told me they're 100+, he can do them for £650 posted! That's the 17"x7", with an e+45 offset, with budget tyres. Unfortunately he can only do them as a package, if anyone's interested i can sort it out? I'll try to get more pic's up to my neck in it at the mo!!
