I've received a parking PCN for my car. Allegedly I used a car park near Birmingham for an hour without paying. At the alleged time I was at home (>150 miles away), however I was at work an hour later (also >150 miles away from the location) and can prove I was there.
My thoughts are to contact:
- the police on 101 to get a crime / log reference number
- the DVLA to inform them that my reg has been cloned
- my employer to get proof in writing that I was there and when
- the parking operator to appeal and provide evidence that it wasn't me
- my insurer so that they're aware
The photos provided on the letter only show the reg plate and nothing else. Is the parking operator required to provide bigger photos on request showing the whole car? My car is fairly common (old 1 series) but it's distinctive due to the visual mods.
Are there any other steps I should take? I work near a police station so I suspect I may get pulled over but I don't mind that. I work similar shifts to them so they'll probably recognise my car anyway.

My sister got a bus lane ticket infringement from Birmingham (shortly after she advertised her car on AT). She informed Birmingham Council that it wasn't her and she informed the Police that her car plate had been cloned. I don't think there is much else needed to be honest. My thoughts are to contact:

It could be a typo. My mum had a letter from Glasgow or somewhere. The photo they sent was clearly a W but they had put a M or the other way round. My thoughts are to contact:
