This is a bit of a odd situation but does anyone have any actual experience of how Suzuki dealers provide warranty and roadside assistance products on used cars.
Basically my local Suzuki dealer is telling me if I buy a used 15 month old car, which has a balance of 21 months transferable manufacturer warranty, they cannot provide 12 months roadside assistance as the 12 months Suzuki approved warranty and 12 months roadside assistance are a package that cannot be split and it is not possible to give 12 months Suzuki approved warranty on a car that has a greater balance of transferable manufacturer warranty.
I fully understand why 12 months approved warranty would not be given or required if a car is covered by a greater balance of transferable manufacturer warranty but in effect this “packaging” of products means if a Suzuki dealer sells a used Suzuki that is between 12 and 24 months old it cannot just have 12 months’ roadside assistance as apparently it is not possible to split the product but if a car is 24 months or older it can as the car would also “qualify” for the 12 months Suzuki approved warranty.
This seems crazy to me so any information on how this is handled in practice will be gratefully received as the dealer and I are going round in circles at present.
For reference new Suzuki cars come with 36 months Suzuki manufacturer warranty and 12 months roadside assistance and used Suzuki cars, under the “Suzuki Used Car Promise”, are advertised as coming with 12 months Suzuki approved warranty and 12 months roadside assistance (provided by AWP Assistance trading as Suzuki Warranty Services).

While I can't help on the specifics, if you want to proceed you could suggest to the dealer that they give you £50 off and you can buy a year of breakdown cover yourself, considering that they're not including it where their advert says they will. http://www.fullreview.co.uk/breakdowncover/green-f... - prices.

We have had this a few times at our Suzuki garage.
The dealer isnt being awkward with you it is how suzuki work but always ways around it.
Also usually when a customer comes to us for a service when the car is 12 months old, we top up the breakdown again for the next year... so if the customer comes to us each year for servicing they always have free breakdown.
Maybe worth checking when the first service was done and by who ? if it was a suzuki dealer most likely has been set up again for breakdown.
