M2 - which one for fun N55 or S55

Can you get the S55 to sound good?

I like the S55 styling, seats and the extra power but not sure if it has that “ feeling” the N55 may give.

Appreciate opinions.

This will be an occasional use car, being the fastest isn’t paramount.

Personally I much prefer the noise of the N55. I like the way the N55’s feel like they need and like to be rev’d.

The comp cars to have nice seats, but I’m not a fan of the wheels and I don’t like the way the backbox hangs down on display like a metal udder. The comp cars are however available in better colours like Sunset Orange and Hockenheim Silver.

A facelift N55 powered car would be my choice.

This is what I look at during my fantasy autotrader browsing. If you get one with the LCI2 upgrades you get the black gloss instrument cluster that looks digital, the better dash and better headlights/taillights.

Agree on both your comments on the late model N55.

Anyone manage to improve sound of the S55?

I’ve never heard one! Heard lots of M2 Comps with various exhausts and they just seem to magnify the noise rather than improve it.

I like the LCI2 dials (had them in my M140i) but loads seem to hate them. I think they look really clean….loads nicer than BMW’s new digital dials.
