Starting to lose the faith.
Having bought my cerbie in April, a week later I had to drop £10k on a replacement engine.
Then replace all dampers
Get it back and lose my clutch due to slave cylinder leaking.
Went for first decent drive today and on an RAC truck due to snapped throttle…

By the way, anyone know the part number or have a link for a replacement cable (early speed 6)?

Sometimes you get a run of unfortunate luck with these cars, look look on the positive, you've pretty much got it sorted for major costs now!
A throttle cable is cheap at £51 from Partsfortvr, part no TVR E3618

An unfortunate run of bad luck. But they are not an every day car , nor are they spring chickens any more. Hopefully now they are behind you, you can enjoy the car

Sorry to hear your troubles, you can fix a throttle cable very easily, and for pence compared to a new one -

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I've detailed a howto on this thread, should probably have started a new one as it would be easier to find.

You need a normal bike gear/brake cable, preferably stainless, and I used a solderless nipple to keep the cable fixed in the throttle.

Very easy, and cheap, more importantly though, the thinner cable gives a much lighter and more sensitive throttle response, making it an excellent upgrade.

I've added the thread to the howto sticky under Throttle cable modification smile

Thanks everyone. I’m going to hope this is the end of the ‘bad luck’ run and I can get back to enjoying it.
