Usually the sun brings the two wheels out in great numbers but it's felt eerily quiet on the lanes this year.

Sign of the times, too hot for leather, margarine sales up in Uzbekistan?

Perhaps I've just not noticed but unlike flying ant, spider, and rhubarb season I've missed seeing all the riders out giving the nod and thumbs up.

(Four wheeled traveller here in case that wasn't obvious!)
Too many people letting the bad news get to them, maybe? It’s odd how people begin to act like the prophecy and it becomes that self fulfilling prophecy.

I always love the vroom, vroom, vroom of bikes whizzing past.

A bike day out isn't cheap (it's priceless tongue out ).

Seriously, when super unleaded was £2.08, I didn't really see a drop off. North Wales packed on a sunny Saturday.

I just go out sooner now, 7am starts if I'm out for a proper ride.

I did a lot of miles last year. Less this year.

No more pandemic and no more lockdowns, so there are more things to occupy my time and more non-bike air travel. I guess this would apply to a lot of others too.

I must admit I have not been out on mine much recently 1) didn’t fancy all the gear on in the heat and wouldn’t ride without the full gear. 2) been busier with other stuff.

For 3 days? Some people need to get a grip.
Mind you, reading certain threads on the motorcycle section during the scamdemic, maybe a lot of bed wetters are still under the bed shaking in there face masks wink

Not that I’d noticed. I’m certainly riding as much as ever.

First year I've not bothered MOTing, taxing, insuring my bike in 7 years of riding. Couldn't justify the cost of a day out on fuel, I'll just go cycling instead and resume when fuel prices aren't so stupid.

I've heard loads going past my house. Annoying as I crashed mine then sold it frown

I'll be back next summer.

Ridden every day since February. Bike levels are similar but I've not gone to many hotspots so can't say if people aren't riding. Were plenty down Mumbles the weekend just gone.

Mine's got new tyres, brakes and a fresh MoT but needs a the headrace bearing adjusting or replacing, its a little notchy s it ruins the cornering feel. I'd probably better do the fork seals whilst I'm there.

I don't really like riding anywhere in really hot weather either, unless I have a complete change of clothing, shorts and trainers to put when I get there.

Hurt pride and wallet only fortunately. Got a bit carried away at Silverstone end of May and trashed it.

Hope you are good mate.

Gave it a miss this year-too hot in SW England and used bike prices were ridiculous.
I suspect that at least the price of bikes will start to drop soon.

I did a trip to Czech Republic recently. Hot as fk, 35C or so. Was quite comfortable in full mesh gear with shorts and a short sleeve shirt underneath. Can just take it off and walk around like normal when you stop. The mesh was cool enough that if you are on the motorway in the evening and the temp dropped to 26C or so, I actually felt a bit chilly wink
