I wanted to buy someone a gift. They have helped me out with a few things recently and a token of appreciation.
I thought buy a couple of Cigars as I know the chap is partial.
Only thing is I have never really smoked them not a clue whats good or bad.
Any reccomendations from any Cigar smokers?

I always liked Cohiba Siglo VI's. Not cheap mind you, Think they're about 70 quid a pop.
Sticking with Cuban Cigars, Montecristo's are nice and probably half the price.

As a gift, a well known Cuban brand would always go down well.Sticking with Cuban Cigars, Montecristo's are nice and probably half the price.

I was going to recommend Cohibas as they are my infrequent go-to, but i prefer the more practical (and cheaper) Siglo II or III. Still pricey especially for a pack or 3 or 5. Agree also on montecristos and Romeo & Juliettas being cheaper alternatives too.

I use these when ordering mine, might be worth having a browse, look at sampler packs, even filter by price.

Good back story, helpful notes and prices that might not frighten everyone off.
I am not involved in this site, btw.

The Cohiba cigars are getting pretty expensive now.
Churchill was partial to a Romeo y Julieta. Maybe this:

You could also look at a sampling pack, I think most producers should have something similar:

For Hugius, I would go for RyJ again as they are a reasonably mild smoke. I'd try something that isn't too much of a smoke, say 30 minutes. Try these:

Not cheap by any stretch, but there is a Cuban Robusto selection that provides a sample of the same size of cigar across a few brands, all with their different profiles.
Not limited to these places, as I'm sure it's available elsewhere:
