Your car and odd claims to fame
Discussion
My cars odd claim to fame ....... a few years when I went to pick up the black red seats, wheel and gaitor kit from an old Black MGF as I already had part leather in mine I was less keen on, well the rather jolly and nice breaker pointed out a previous owners name on the VRD - and it said "Anna Friel" ?
I never saw anything more meaningful to corroborate ...... but more recently someone shared this image so must be true.
So what odd claims do yours have

After buying my car I discovered it had been driven by Harry Metcalfe back in 2010. Albeit for the briefest of one-column 'used car' feature articles, although I'd say he captures the car's strengths and weaknesses very well

I have a feeling this is going to be a fairly short thread

My current Cayenne was previously owned by Welsh variety performer Owen Money

Nope, I'd never heard of him either!

My 911 was used for a car vs plane test in Total911 magazine. (Previous owner was the editor so not really a surprise that it featured in the magazine).

My old TVR S2 is the one on the Wikipedia page about TVR S series

I had a McLaren 650S that was used (and damaged) in the Jackie Chan film “Kung Fu Yoga”. Great car, rubbish film.
The featured car chase started with the car I later purchased (a coupe) and ended with a spider as the coupe was damaged before they finished. Not many spot the continuity error as they were both bright yellow McLarens but I did

I was told that one of my old cars was in Emmerdale... or Heartbeat... or something similar, Having never watched any of them it didn't exactly add value to it for me. I think I broke it for parts.
Slightly off topic...
I sold my Bristol 411 to the chap who owned the concession to sell Dr Martens in Germany. On the test drive when I bought it, we ran out of fuel and ended up blocking Pam Ayres drive - not that she was in the least bothered, just stuck her Range rover or whatever in four wheel drive and went 'round me.
Once owned a Kawasaki Z1000 that had a huge amount of engine work carried out by a previous owner. I was in a bike shop, chatting to the guy behind the counter - he recognised the bike and pointed to a professionally produced A2 poster on the wall behind him. "It used to be ours, we used it for drag racing. That's it in the poster". All you could see were the twin headlights shining through a massive cloud of burnt rubber smoke!

My BMW 840 Ci Sport (R plate, black, low mileage) was apparently ordered and specced brand new from Park Lane BMW in London by none other than Liam Gallagher. Due to "touring commitments" he never took delivery of it and it sat in the window on Park Lane for months until a French lady living in a very affluent area of London bought it. She was the only owner before me. Not particularly exciting given he never actually took delivery of it or drove it but a nice little bit of (documented) history in my file on the car.
My Dad's old Jag XJR 100 that we ran for about three years was the one featured in pretty much every UK road test or PR feature you'll see on the internet. BX51 ZFB being the plate. There's an Autocar test out there featuring it as well as a Youtube video of Richard Hammond driving it and it was used for all of the Jag PR shots and materials. I've tried to track that car down many many times over the years without success. It's now living in Australia is all i know.

My Brother's Escort that I used to compete when my 205 was broken (often !) was bought by Fast and Furious franchise.
Harewood Hillclimb in years gone by..

Prepped by us and ready for sale.

Seen here in the garage being prepped for the movie (3rd car in)

One of 5 (I think) bought and used in the Movie.
Was immaculate when we sold it, with a 2l Pinto, Quaife Pro Sport straight cut box, and a tarmac rally diff.

When I bought my Audi S5 I was told it was sold new by that dealer to a footballer who was now playing in the premier league. Didn't think anything about it as I didn't care but when I turned on the bluetooth his name and most of his contacts came up in the car's contacts list
Jonathan Walters, Ex stoke and republic of ireland footballer.
Never understood why he specified heated rear seats but not front seat memory when ordering the car.

My first Rover P5B Coupe was previously owned by Dr.Who actor Colin Baker, and the month before I bought my ‘65 Mk1 Cooper S it featured in Practical Classics, driven by Russell Brooks alongside a Stag and an MGB.
A friend of mine owns Ted Molt’s old Moggy Minor convertible (“fit the best, fit Everest... turn the fan on Reg...” for those of a certain age). A friend of a friend owns the Mk2 Cooper S that belonged to train robber Bruce Reynolds and another friend did some restoration work on Peter Sutcliffe’s Rover P6.

I owned this Caterham for 5 years. I watched the video when it came out. Didn't twig it was the same car when I bought it. Dealership said it had never been on track. Hmm.
