Even if it is a Hesketh. And that engine looks suspiciously like the Chinese knock off jobbies they fit to Mashs and such like.

I actually really like Hesketh as a company. But those spy shots do make it look a bit like an old CB500 hehe

Looks like a 1990s budget bike.

So why not buy a 1990s budget bike and save yourself about £13,500?

I remember the owner of Hesketh banging on about their next bike being electric a few years back on the motorbike show. Obviously the grand plan went wrong so let’s produce a single instead.
I wonder what percentage of the bike will be made in the Far East?

The company director seems to think it is an `affordable` bike. Maybe it is low cost compared to their previous 35k bike which they could not even get to meet modern emissions standards. So it`s got a Honda engine and a welded steel frame. Other random stuff from a parts bin, with block shaped bits of metal holding it together. 14k would buy you a great new bike from any of the manufacturers which would be better in every way. Or you could buy a bike with about the same specs (but better looking and probably works better too), new, from the big manufacturers for about 5k.

The company owner is pissing into the wind.

It tells you what engine it is in the article...

As such it’s based around an updated, enlarged, fuel-injected version of Honda’s XR400 enduro twin exhaust port single, complete with balancer shaft

You mean like the engine in this?

But with more spangly chrome.

I have no idea... Is that "updated, enlarged, fuel-injected"

Oh wow, it has balancer shaft.

Is there any single cylinder motor on any bike that doesn't have something to balance it? There might be one, but it will have shaken itself to bits and be laying in parts on the road.

Tells you some basics but not who makes it.

It tells you it's based off (I.E a copy of...) an XR400 engine.
Which is just a basic old school single.
That's a very generic comparison.

It's the same engine used by the equally overpriced "Halcyon 450" vintage inspired machine. It's made by Shineray and appears to be a bored out version of their previous 400 which is used by Mash etc. I suppose there's still enough people around with too much money and not enough sense to make this worthwhile.
