I don’t think that’s much of a controversial opinion - there’s some pretty dire live performances out there by him - likewise Lars is not exactly Neil Peart either Great band though.

Yebbut (and certainly in this parish) The Beatles come in for a lot of stick on the quality of their back catalogue.

I think both of those opinions pale into insignificance compared with how rubbish James Hetfield is at singing.
