Received a PCN. Incorrect info...

Hi Guys,

My pal collected me from hospital doing me a favour, and just had a PCN arrive...

The PCN my pal received is wrong as the junction it states isn't the one in the video footage, have we a leg to stand on to appeal..?

After some detective work with Google maps, its a few miles away and not the route we took...

He stopped with his front wheels in a yellow box junction, he moved forward to let a van turn left behind him so yes he did enter the box junction, so guilty as charged, poor guy has only driven in London once before and that was 30x years ago...

As the PCN is wrong is it worth contesting... as I will pay it for him and I'm skint..!

It doesn’t cost you anything to put an appeal in. Also, in most cases, if the appeal fails, the local authority will still give you the opportunity of paying at the earlier discounted rate.

i had something similar, wrong street etc, reco arena Coventry. it was a council ticket. I bluffed therm out and said it was incorrect and that I had witnesses who would make statements to say I was elsewhere at the time. Which was true.

It got dropped but was some years back.

If they have photographic evidence that clearly shows the junction location then you'd be arguing on a technicality so may not be so lucky.

I recently received an invoice from a private car parking company, so not the same as a council notice.

The allegation was a car I lease had entered and exited the car park without paying. Following advice on another forum the notice was cancelled.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention it here but google "fightback forums".

Don't respond too early if you have time to decide what your appeal will be, as you risk scuppering your chances if say the wrong thing.

I've had a charge dropped due to incorrect details in the past, because location was incorrect.

This was by a magistrate, who wasn't impressed that the CPS / police couldn't fill out their own forms properly.

I'd have no issues representing myself again, if the same situation arose.
