Any advice on Loop?

Looks like a way to remotely access your smart meter, and presumably get better access to the data than is possible in the meter or supplier portals (like bulb which is a bit crude/lacking in detail).

Is it any good?

Any security / spam concerns before I sign up?

Not sure about Loop in particular but there's several similar apps that can access the same data and all they generally require is the unique ID/address of your existing in home display so nothing that's going to risk personal data loss other than granting access to see your energy usage.

The app I've used for about a year is the Hildebrand Bright app, it's primarily geared towards being a companion app to their own smart meter in home display physical gadget you can buy but you don't need one of those to use the app, and the reason I use that one is because it provides a back end API connection to the account that an app on my Home Assistant smart home solution can hook into, so I can see half hourly updated usage of gas and electric direct within Home Assistant. When looking on the app itself there's historical data all the way back to when we moved into the house 2 years ago (before I signed up to the app) which is useful to look at longer term usage trends and see if improvements to loft insulation etc help save energy over an entire winter etc. Another app I tried recently Hugo has more bells and whistles trying to offer advice on how to save energy etc but it only seems to retain access to 3 months of historical data which is less useful, and the usage and budget reports are not very well presented.

many thanks

its actually access to older info that I’m interested in. only 3 months history is pretty limited - 2 yrs sounds good.

That was Hugo I was talking about, Loop might be more, I don't know. Hildebrand presumably has access to more than 2 years as well as for us it starts at precisely the time we moved in. The only slight negative is there's no real way to download the data in csv format etc to look at it offline, they say there is on a beta website they run but the data it gives you is only for electric IIRC, and in a raw format that's not easy to work with.

I've just had a look at loop. Seems to only let you set your tariff to the cap. Which isnt helpful. You can customise it on Hugo.

Bit of a bump.....

Trying to sign in to n3rgy, but it's telling me "Authentication Failed", anyone currently using it?

The meter itself shows up fine here: https://homebrew.n3rgy.com/cgi-bin/n3rgy-checkmete...

(MPN Removed)

I've managed to sign up on Loop and Bright, but i really want the raw data from n3rgy nerd

PS - Not actulally seeing any data in Loop or Bright, yet.
