2000 Hymer B544 advice
Discussion
Hi all,
Looked at a 2000 Hymer B544,Fiat Ducato 2.8 diesel , 6 berth, its done 80k miles and is genuinely in very good condition in fact id say its mint , has habitation report ,full clean MOT and everything works ,bodywork unmarked ,nearside light lenses is cracked but that's all i could find wrong ,underside is clean as a whistle and really clean apart from usual underseal. The guy is asking £26k ,what is your opinion on asking price and anything to look out for ? It has 4 seated belts and of course driver and passenger belts.

If it was local-er I'd have a nosey, not that I do appraisals.
Bit picky I did notice these after a quick glance:
- Recently replaced fridge, check the install is decent (take vents off and have a look).
- Non oem socket near hab door (clipsall beige job check its safe).
- Quite often no RCD on this generation Hymer (would recommend, your perogative).
- Wrong bike rack (probably didnt want to lose the full use of the window).
- Any gearbox history?
Does seem rather spendy for a 'private seller', it looks fairly smart but tbh if you do a really good clean and take 100 decent picures your going to ask top dollar.

That's pretty bloody expensive tbh for a private sale or even for a dealer.
Prices are mad at the moment but that's pretty iver the top.
If its a 2000 and a full fat b544 not a classic it will be also chassis which us good as galvanised but it will be the old gearbox without the lift up reverse which is bad as they tend to break and parts are nearly unobtainable.
If the engine is the first of the jtd then that's good but it could be the 2.8 idtd which wasn't common rail and quite short lived only around for 2 or 3 years so again parts may become an issue.
Personally as a motorhome dealer I pwupdnt retail one of that age but if I was it would be £22995 forecourt retail so I think he is being daft tbh
