Hi all, I purchased a 2013 BMW 730D LCI M Sport 48 hours ago from an independent dealer here in the UK. Since it's purchase, I have covered approximately 200 miles.

Today when out it the car I received the following chassis warning and then a little while after there was a very unusual squealing sound when first accelerating, they may be unrelated. The squeal sounded almost as though it was electrical or audio related in some way but happened only when initially accelerating.

Can anyone advise as to the potential cause please? Is it likely that the two are related?

When looking into the vehicles history, BMW informed me that around 8 weeks ago the previous owner replaced a rear spring and compressor as part of an investigation into rear suspension issues. I will be discussing it with the dealer this week.

No idea; but take it back to the dealer and leave it with them to investigate!

I have a good idea of the problem, your engine front vibration damper has split and causes the noise and the chassis fault to be displayed as the pump is not driven because of the damper slipping. Let me know how you get on.
