Who the chuff are buying all these James Blunt cds?
Then there's Daniel Powter, Damien Rice, even David Gray has smelt the pound notes and releasing more of that same sorta stuff.
Ok, its gotta be better than Crazy Frog right? And there are lots of good music floating about at the minute but Mr Blunt et al is hardly summer, tap yer feet-put a smile on yer face music.......its a bit dreary is it not? Is the whole country depressed or something?

I've just ordered the new Madness album. It'll probably put a smile on my face, even if they're not very much in favour these days.
There are always 'nice' albums out there (norah Jones, enya, phil collins) - but there is some cracking good stuff around at the moment too, it's just not necessarily what the public are buying.

I happen to think it's a very good album
But then I also like Damien Rice, David Gray etc....

That James Blunt album is bloody awful. Unfortunately I am subjected to it on a daily basis at work.
Kaiser Chiefs are doing well at the moment, so it seems.

I generally find that so called "depressing" music is actually much, much better than "happy" music. I don't choose the music I buy based on mood, rather on what I like, but most people would call my music depressing. I wouldn't say the artists you name are particularly sad though, just dreary in that they offer nothing new or interesting to listen to. Most music in the charts puts in a terrible mood, I cannot listen to it without feelinbg angry that people buy such rubbish.
