This may have been posted already, forgive me if so, but it appears that Legend (Sky 148) are showing the very first episode of Knight Rider from today, 9am, right after Airwolf.
My series link is already set. Happy days.

Thanks for the heads up.

Knight Rider was by far my favourite tv show as a child, so I'll definitely have to watch a couple for old times sake.

beer

I recorded the entire series of Airwolf earlier in the year, slowly working my way through them (although it is hard going with them being so dated). Will be interesting to see how Knight Rider has aged in comparison.

I watched some early Knight Rider episodes a few years ago, it's not aged particularly well, and the storyline is pretty much identical for every episode.

Yeah, but.. K.I.T.T!

One thing I do remember, and it's been years since I've seen any Knight Rider, was that Michael seemed to grab a women by the upper arm and 'guide' her to safety at least once an episode. That probably wouldn't work too well these days..

I haven't seen it in years so have vague memories of it.

I remember there being a bad version of KITT and didn't Michael have a twin with a dodgy tache.

Something I always loved about those 80's shows were the theme music were so memorable.
You hardly get that nowadays.

Great stuff

Plus Goliath.

There's a bit of a following on YouTube, there's a chap in the US tracking down original parts/cars and he's even found the original semi which he's putting back to authentic Knight Rider spec.

I happened to watch it last night.... I hadn't seen the 1st episode before.

I was a bit confused why they'd use cosmetic surgery to make Michael unrecognisable and yet restore his car as an identical copy.

Other than that, it was completely believable. smile

I just went off to Google to find Goliath, however this made me think about how fked up Devon Knight was....

I mean not only did he perform plastic surgery on two people (presumably without their full consent) but he also made them look almost the same.

That's some crazy, porno fked up storyline right there!!

Garth Knight

Bloody loved Knight Rider - still do, cheers OP!!

I’ve recently watched series one and it’s very formulaic, Michael has a mission but gets side tracked by a woman (and sometimes a child), he won’t tell Bonnie he fancies her and there some jumps and crashes throughout. Every episode is the same.

It also doesn’t look great on anything bigger or better than a 14” CRT, you can see the strings.

Just read up on it looks like Garth was the original and they performed surgery on Michael so he looked like him.

I'm sat watching clips on YouTube instead of working....cheers OP

Hmm. Knight Rider or Airwolf.
Well, I have the full Airwolf box set on bluray and have watched it. It was still good.
Knight Rider though. Feel it aged less well so haven’t bought it - should I? Still way better than street hawk though.

Don't forget about Blue Thunder, Manimal, Automan, Fall Guy, The Highwayman...

I rewatched a few Fall Guy and Highwayman a while back, Fall Guy holds up better than most of the rest IMO.

Used to love Airwolf as a kid along with Streethawk. (Can see a theme with the show names.)

Shame what happended to Jean Michael Vincent though. He was getting paid $200k per episode!!! Yet his life and health are a complete mess now. Such a shame.

I guess that's one way of putting it, seeing as he died a few years ago wink

But yes, was a shame about his downward spiral. I believe he was the highest paid US TV actor at the time when he did Airwolf.

He’s dead now. But yes, I agree his life and health were a mess. IIRC he was an alcoholic and struggled with it his whole life?

I agree, the Fall Guy is worth getting - I will do so.
Automan - loved it then, but now, nah.

That was a bit past me. Airwolf and Knight Rider were my peak. Airwolf FTW since they actually did a lot of actual airborne stunts with a real helicopter (Bell 222). And I wanted to be Stringfellow Hawke. In fact, still would. smile
