Started around 8:40pm here. ( Mid Sussex ) Passed over now and heading North. https://www.lightningmaps.org/ is showing the storm over East Grinstead / Tunbridge Wells now

I can confirm it’s over East Grinstead now!Love a good storm.
Instantly takes me back to being little and sitting on the deep bay windowsill in my bedroom at night.
It makes me feel alive - sounds odd but when it snows, I feel the same.
Seen some fantastic storms in the Caribbean and in North Africa - we don’t really get the good stuff over here.
I’d love to spend a season chasing storms in the states.

I'll quite happily stand with the door open waiting for the flash/fork and the ensuing clap of thunder.
We've had some decent lightning and thunder over the last few days, last was around 4pm yesterday in Staffs, big fork lightning pretty much overhead, house shaking with the thunder etc.
