VW media connection?

64 plate Golf, I thought it would have a USB and Apple carplay, but all it had is this, what is it I’ve never seen it before?

Needs a special lead. I chucked one out a couple of weeks ago.

No carplay on a car of that age, does need a special media lead, most people have MDI to USB like this:

App connect (Apple Carplay & Android Auto) were an option from the 2016 model year.
