Hi all, just been looking at adhesive stuff to refit a number plate, there is so much stuff on Amazon from individual pads to rolls of tape, but no point buying 10m of tape for one number plate.

So any recommendations please, I am pretty when the plate was fitted by the dealer it was a single strip the width of the plate, thanks everyone.

I just use whatever 3M tape I have in the garage and it’s worked ok so far.

It’s cheap enough on eBay / Amazon.

2 small blobs of silicone sealant then making tape to hold it till it goes off.

Easy enough to remove the plate and the silicone rubs off the paintwork by hand.

Mine are on with 3M 4943F tape. It’s the “Bonding at low temperatures” option here…

This is the best stuff, VHB.

Had a plate survive 140mph on the autobahn with two smallish strips.

In that case, mine will be safe as houses,

I've used the stickly back velcro for attaching number plates before.

It works a treat. You really have to pull hard to get them off again.

Clean the surfaces before you stick anything to it.

I usually get some 3m tape off eBay
And clean both areas,
Then gently warm the plate stick it on warm it again over the cooker and leg it outside and put on the car
