I have been using a well known brand of towing mirrors for many years , never found them stable or giving a clear image to the rear ,think sure linked with tow I supplement them with a wired rear-view camera . to be sure of seeing vehicles to the rear of the caravan .
We have just changed car , and new have a Skoda Karoq ( not a discussion about a Karoq)
The “well known “ towing mirrors are totally useless for the shape of the car mirrors , I have now found a company who manufacture bespoke towing mirrors shaped to be an exact fit for the fitted mirrors on any car ,
Google “towing mirrors ) and look for a company called EMUK . Not cheap but good warrantee ,and in my case an exact fit on the Karoq ,

£144 per side! for an XL mirror.

Fek that....I can manage fine with my Grand Aero jobbies....they aren't perfect but I haven't died yet.

I'm sure they're good mind you.

Apologies....I stupidly assumed that was for a single mirror.

£144 for the XL upgrade.

Still pricey..but I'm sure they're decent.

I think part of the appeal is that once they are tightened up, you can easily adjust the mirror itself. Aero mirrors, think Milenco for example, because the bar goes through the clamp, once they are tight that is it.
I bought a pair of those ones that clip to the mirror and have straps to keep them tight. Yeah they're great, until you start doing more than 15 mph and then the wind pressure folds them in, so i go along with the OP on this one personally, EMUK mirrors are the way forward imho.

I forgot to add , once the mirrors are initially set up the clamp ensures the mirrors will always be in the correct position when refitted , so no more readjusting every time they are used, they also come with a nice storage bag . Just to be clear , I have absolutely no interest in the company , just found the mirrors when Googling

I have these EMUKs for our cars and they are just the best - I got my first set it Germany and never looked back.

Just changed cars and ordered a new set for our 5 series.

So if anyone has a X3 that would like a second hand set - shout!!
