so after my car has had repeated attempted thefts (as per my previous thread) I've been offered a company car which I have quite a bit of freedom to choose
around £400-600 a month for the lease
ideally it's something that's not as stolen as a fiesta st and something that's not going to take a huge amount off my wages for BIK etc
at first I thought a hyundai i120n / i130n, can be leased in budget but being unfamiliar with company car tax I didn't realise just how much BIK + private fuel allowance takes off your wages - £400 a month for a 120n!
I was thinking a cupra born - EV hot hatch - 230hp and BIK means it'd cost almost nothing off my wages, only problem is it's not apparently great to drive and only does 99mph
any suggestions would be welcome ! has to have a big enough boot to be practical

Until recently I received a car allowance which I could exchange for a company car. There were five cars on the list from memory, all of which were diesel and I could not see how the numbers worked out.
A mid spec golf diesel after the loss of the car allowance and corresponding BIK tax would have cost me around £550 in real money per month.
As has been said, company cars only really work as an EV or the very least a hybrid. Why do you think so many people get Teslas, it probably works out around the same as getting a diesel golf.

My model Y works out less than the £550 monthly cost of the golf you mention above. t ton faster. You do have to sell your soul to the cult of Musk, and the ominous chanting gets a bit irritating after a while.
Might prove an unpopular suggestion, how about the new MG 4 Trophy, or maybe the Triumph.

iirc the model 3 is slightly too expensive at £680 a month on lease

I wouldn’t have mentioned it but I didn’t realise the thought of wanting to do 100mph would annoy so many people here
Regardless, its your car, your criteria. You still going to be getting a little hot hatch for private use? If so, would it be worth getting more of a practical cruiser for work? Something like a Polestar or the Hyundai and Kia suggested
