Hoping to get some advice for you knowledgeable folk. I currently own a 2019 TTRs it’s an all round great car limited by rear space, crap fuel consumption and my daily round trip being about 6 miles of town driving so it doesn’t really get the use it deserves. I am toying with the idea of changing for something which is a little bit more usable and have had a soft spot for the Hyundai i30n since it’s release. With the current climate used car prices being weird what do you guys think? Should I sell up and get the cheaper Hyundai? I like small fun manual cars always have. The Audi would owe me about £40k and the Hyundais are roughly £26k for a second hand one with low mileage. Do you think it is worth it or should I stick with the TT for now? Thanks
If you don’t like crap fuel consumption I would forget an i30N now. They are pretty much the thirstiest of the 4 pot hot hatches from what I gather. Otherwise I think they are a great car for the money and if you’re still keen I would stretch a little for the face lift. Nice one for £29k.
Regards the i20N, they are really impressive. Really enjoyed a test drive of one but it sounded like a long wait for a new one.

Interesting and thanks for all your comments. I would have though the N would be better on fuel than the TT. To be honest I get buy without the need for carrying passengers it was more having a car which is less costly on consumables and fuel although I’m not expecting a hybrid Yaris yet fun when the opportunity arises. I will look at i20n the looks don’t really do it for me though. Does anyone have thoughts on the i30 generally in that price bracket similar age is there any other cars worth considering?
I had one for 3 years. It was a brilliant car. Solidly built, reliable, and it was cheap to service, and actually to insure as well.
Previous posters are correct though, they aren't great on fuel. I had a 9 mile commute and even in the summer you'd be looking at mid to high 20's. It doesn't help that the car goads you into pressing on!
If you drive like an angel you will get high 30s and even break the 40s on a relaxed motorway cruise, but that isn't the point of the car.
I barely lost anything on it in 3 years, but I timed it almost to perfection (26k new in 2018, 24k trade in 2020). I can't guarantee what the future holds.

Leon Cupra?You could get a 2019 Fiesta ST3 with performance pack for about £17k. If you don't carry passengers often then the better looking 3dr will do fine. It'll do anything the other cars will do whilst giving you up to 40mpg. If saving some money is what you're looking for without compromising on fun that's what I'd go for.
The i30N is the only car I actually miss. Previous M4 and S63 were great cars but I didn't gel with them. The i30N was just a real bag of fun, well equipped and you didn't have to be doing stupid speeds to enjoy the drive, unlike the previous cars I'd had. If I was going for another hot hatch purely for fun then there's nowhere I'd be looking except for the i30N - If you're looking at track days and really pushing the car then I guess that's where the balance shifts to some of the more capable cars.
