If this has been posted, I searched and couldn't find it. There's a picture on the socials for this Nissan dealer, where Barry traded in his Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 for a new Nissan Leaf, because of the petrol prices. I was curious about the relative prices, and if this is true, I hope Barry got a really really good deal on this. It says straight swap though yikes

I think it’s fairly obviously a joke

I think I read/hoped that this is just very good advertising from the dealership, or that chap is one of the salesman.

It's a good example of marketing: it makes people feel better about needing to buy a Leaf.

I hope it's a joke, because happily taking in a car that's £100k more than the new car as a straight swap isn't a great advert for Barry's sense or for the dealer. If it's for real, Barry didn't think it through. If it's a joke, the dealer didn't think it through.

Or perhaps some readers of the joke aren’t the sharpest tools in the box?

I think it's quite amusing. Beats the usual "man buys Leaf" tedium of a dealer's social media posts.

Its so obviously a joke, why would 'Barry's px' be sat in the middle of the showroom fully valeted. I think its great, its obviously worked because we've all seen it and we're on the other side of the world to the dealer!

Looks perfectly thought through to me. It’s gone round the world for the cost of about 15 minutes time, advertising doesn’t get much better.
