E46 318iS 2002 facelift....exhaust query

I have recently bought a mint condition 2002 318is E46, which is completely standard.

Is the OEM exhaust system stainless steel from the factory ?
I am considering replacing the rear section with an aftermarket subtle stainless steel one, but would keep the OEM one if it were stainless.
I seem to recall (!) that my E36 328 had stainless as standard.....( not sure actually !!)

I don't think any E36s has stainless steel exhausts from factory.

Neither of my 328s did, or my 325i.
