You need them to tell you what is causing it - their diagnostic software will report the code, then take it from there?

The code is coming up because there's an issue somewhere. Recurrently just clearing the code doesn't 'fix' the problem! What's the actual diagnosis?

3 things you can do:

Ask the garage to fix whatever their code reader says is triggering the limp mode. As has been said, clearing the fault code doesn't fix the problem, just clears the car's memory. It's obviously an intermittent fault, so it will come back again.

Buy your own code reader, and reset it yourself each time it happens. Make a note of the fault codes, see if you keep getting the same one(s). Google the code, and work out if it's worth getting it fixed.

Take it to a different garage, and explain that it keeps happening, and you'd like to have it repaired not reset.

As per this. One of the symptoms of the egr fault is showing drive train fault. So possible down to egr fault. Has it been for the recall?
Unless it’s petrol of course.
