It wouldn’t bother me, a lot of this type of car is bought by people who want a performance car and then sold when realities hit etc.
Also the M2 is one of the cars that really benefited from price increases and it is likely a lot we’re sold on as their values increased.
Basically, if it all checks out, don’t worry about it.

As for a demonstrator being Ken Block'd out of the dealership twice a week I've never seen it, if the dealer is letting you go out on your (rare in an M car) own then I've found the car has always been warmed up first.

Dealership briefly (500miles), 1 owner for 3 years (15000miles) then next owner 6 months (3000miles).
Owner who had it before me loved it but his Mrs hated it as she found it too uncomfortable, loud and not enough space. As soon as the baby was discovered he was made to get rid.
I’ve done 4000miles in mine in 4 months and would say even though I love it I can definitely see how the novelty wears off very quickly.
Likely each new owner will spoil the car when they get it as well as they appeal to a more serious crowd than other M cars I have found.

Hmm, despite having no Mrs or baby in the foreseeable future this worries me. I commute 20 miles round trip daily, tis a 20 min journey. Too compromised / noisy / uncomfortable for this sort of use? Vast proportion of buyers will always pay more for 1 owner or low owner cars. Similarly for FMDSH v spurious/dodgy history and for obvious reasons too.
Thats why 1 owner fleet and lease cars esp with FMDSH always get the highest prices ££ at auction all other factors being equal.
Wouldn't buy a 3 owner 2018 car unless at a substantial discount ££ to a 1 owner.

For that sort of distance it’s fine. It can get a bit wearing on longer 2hr journeys to be honest and it’s definitely a stiff car.
For reference a Fiesta ST or R.S Megan’s Trophy don’t bother me at all and I have never understood how people think they are too stiff but I’d definitely say the M2 is on the border of what’s tolerable in a road car. BMW seemed to be aware of this as made the M2 Comp softer.
My advice is get a good test drive and also compare it to the M4 as they are basically the same price. M2 is better to drive IMO but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it has crossed my mind once or twice sacrificing a bit of that for the M4s adaptive suspension.
