The best cargo pants

Are these for working in, (as in manual labour)?
Or relaxing around the house?

I’ve always been really happy with Dickies. Comfy, long wearing, decent, strong pockets, but a little bit pricey.

Cargo pant from Primark are 90% as good for 50% of the cost. They’re noticeable lighter to wear, which is good I. Spring / Summer, not so great in the depths of winter.

The downside of the Primark cargo pants being made out of a lighter, thinner material is that they don’t last quite as long as the Dickies ones before they start to get thin on the knees.

Because my job changed last year from industrial to driving, I wear Peter Storm ‘quick drying’ cargo pants from GoOutdoors. Really light and comfy to wear, but the pockets soon get holes in them. If it gets really cold, (but stays dry), I wear Dickies as they are warmer.

As for any other brands, I couldn’t tell you.

I’ve bought a few pairs this from 511 and Pentagon, neither are patch quality wise on the Vertx original tactical pants I bought a few years back, the quality of stitching on them wouldn’t look out of place on a Northampton made shoe. The design had input from Arcteryx I’ve read somewhere, make of that what you will. Not sure if the quality is till the same nowadays.

Well if they have the be the best then they should be pleated, sta-prest, with turn ups - Transportation Trousers, for more formal settings.

If your budget will stretch, and you are in no hurry - look at Fortis Clothing. Devon based and made to order, so can be customised for colour/pockets etc.

Yes they are expensive but they come pre zipped for liners which make them all seasons for the UK and the quality of the materials they use is the best you can get.

They are not a full military cut either so more like normal trousers but do pay attention to the size guide. They have a smart sizer widget on the website.

Cargo trousers and style don’t go together

Do you need loads of pockets? If not Dickies original work trousers are as hardwearing as most would need and don’t look like you’re going away for a weekend of airsoft.

I wear them every day.

Primark ones are excellent value for money, I've got a couple of pairs that are about 7 years old and still going strong

M&S have corduroy cargo trousers. I am old enough to look appropriately ridiculous in them.

Not sure if you can get them in the UK, but I've been wearing Molecule cargos for the last many years. Excellent quality and have sizes that have always suited my yoyoing waistline and long legs

Same here, currently in a pair of zip off ones. Agree that cargo trousers and stylish aren't words that go together that well though.

Mountain Warehouse is my shop of choice for these. Wear them for work outside and they seem pretty durable to me.

Also,dry quickly when wet and have a good range of pockets etc.
