Beginning tonight at 8pm.

When teenager Rosie Duff was found brutally murdered in the Scottish university town of St Andrews in 1996, suspicion fell on the three drunken students who were discovered at the scene of the crime, claiming to have found her body. Lack of forensic evidence left the case floudering.. Reinvestigation begins...

I'll give this a watch tonight and see if it's any good - This is the 1st of 3 episodes..

I've set it to record. I've enjoyed the books (by Val McDermid) so I have fingers crossed.

Shame they keep ruining everything with woke stuff. Would be even better. But it was good.

Agreed, good. Much better than some of ITV’s recent Sunday evening detective series.

I was having Sunday dinner round my parents' house yesterday and they were saying about there being a new detective show on that evening, but couldn't remember the name... 'something like Katie Price' was the best guess, I assume this Karen Pirie was what they meant.

Of course, it was chock-full of wokeness. They had women Police Officers, a homoseeeeexual partnership and also two (count 'em) 'dark' gentlemen who had speaking parts. /sarcasm

For those of us with functioning brains, it was a pretty decent drama with enough old 80's cars to liven up the flashback sequences. Although how a DS can afford to run an XC60 (I think), and the 1980's DI could afford a 190 cosworth (*1) I'm not quite sure.

(*1) It appeared in one scene when the Phillip Glennister DI broke the news to the father/brother of the murdered women. I assume it was his.

That's quite clever and a nice little nod to Ashes to Ashes character Gene Hunt (played by Phillip Glenister)
If you cast your mind back to Ashes to Ashes Gene Hunt has an Audi Quattro.
In the very last episode the Quattro is destroyed in a shoot out and then the characters except Gene Hunt depart the afterlife via the pub which acts as the gateway. Gene Hunt refturns to the Police Station and on his desk is a Mercedes 190 Cosworth brochure which he glances at before hearing a commotion and goes to the office door to find a new member of the team arriviing then the credits roll

don't think it was Glennister. Believe it was Gilly Gilchrist (scottish actor).

Slow start bur fairly heating up, so enjoyable.

re woke - if its a problem, just stick to re-runs of Minder

Thanks both. I knew it wasn't Glennister, but that is obviously the 'vibe' that the actor/producer were going for hehe

Looking forward to the next episode which is something I don't say that often with the standard of so many shows these days

Incase you're not aware, the whole series is currently available on the ITV HUB, if you don't want to wait.

Really liked to the look of this but got a bit bored halfway through the first episode.

I might give it another try at some point.
